Weekend Update

The holiday was a good one and I really enjoyed the car shows I attended. I also like tennis and the US’s Roddick put on the show of his life against Federer. Tiger showed his stuff, so I was a happy camper this weekend. I hope all of you had a great time also. I saw some of our gang at the cars shows so I know they had a good time.

Car shows are really changing for us old people who like traditional Hot Rods. Most shows are about 50 – 70’s cars except for a few special ones. I don’t think we can change that as age is against us. The young high school hot rods bunch (not Rat Rods) have something going so… maybe there is hope for the future. I like all types of cars so I am happy just being at a car show.

Here are some photos from the weekend.

Stay Tooned!

My pick at the Fillmore show. This 34 coupe had the look and was very well built. I have seen the car around prior to the show but never up close. Glass car but very nice.

Interior was traditional in maroon with chrome column. The car is now from Paso Robles.

The taillights were a nice touch. They are tucked into a panel between the body and frame. Mine stick out some like a Deuce.

Chuck had his convert parked on the street. Frantic did his thing on this rust free convertible.

Myron’s 47 was also parked on the street outside the show. Older build by Frantic, but still very nice.

Bob’s two Woodys. Sandy loves the 39 and it always is best of show. This is probably one of the best. FH with Columbia and flawless wood.

Classic 29 HB was for sale. Older car but had the early look and patina which is so popular today.

Another 29 HB I saw at the LARS this year. Sandy’s Muffler car was a true gem. Full feature on Friday.

I always need a doze of CMG 40 coupes or sedans. Very nice car with steel wheels, dropped axle and R&P interior.

Perfect 5 window with a well equipped banger motor.

Our lunch bunch was well represented. Dick, Myron and Don were in the front row. Dick had his new top on the car and it looked fantastic.

Today’s ride…dreaming!

Rudy can build any car with the right look. He sure has the eye for early rods and he is young.
