Toppers Tuesday

Lite turn out today. I think it was the LARS burnout. Most of our crowd is old and need a day or two to recover. I will hear about that. I know I am really sore from all the walking. SO-CAL was my favorite place this weekend. Pete went all out and did a First Class job this year. Thank you Pete and your team.

SO-CAL Speed Shop Open House

Early line up for the open house. They added a couple of more rows 6 blocks long later in the day. This was at 2:00 pm.

Sitting in the back of the parking lot was this bare metal Deuce. Very nice workmanship everywhere you looked. I don’t know how they keep them from rusting but they do.

The top was perfect and was metal finished inside and out.

Here is my friend Ed’s new RPU. 500 inch Ford, 4 speed, Winters QC and super black paint. This was the first one Brookville built.
Ed was the test case and actually had the car built in CA by the best metal people around. Frame is by Fat Jack and has all of his tricks incorporated.

Sometimes a full fendered Deuce is a nice change. This was a perfect one in light blue.

SO-CAL does some nice neat and clean work. This is a 37 Ford chassis with a dropped axle, 4 speed and 9 inch.

I am not sure who owns this car but it was a famous old hiboy in the early books. The car was very dusty like it was just pulled out of the storage bin. Does anyone know whose car this is or was?

Jimmy has his own workspace and does some amazing work. He had early rides, funny cars, and race roadsters on display. Truly an amazing talent.
