The Season Begins

Des Moines and Tulsa events took place and it seems both were successful. Louisville is scheduled and is the largest of NSRA’s events. And I hope it is well attended. I am not going due to health and the long plane ride. At my age, I have to be real careful with travel and large groups of people.

People will take lots of photos and post them on FB so I will feel like I am there. FB has replaced magazines for photos and instant coverage of events taking place across the country. If you require a T-shirt then just order one from their magazines. The world of street rodding has changed and will be that way for the foreseeable future. We no longer have to wait for 3 months to see coverage of our favorite events. Online coverage is the preferred source for any of the local and national events.

Events will still require you stay safe and adhere to the rules set forth by the promoters. I’m not sure I will attend any event until a vaccine is available for the public. Seniors can’t be too careful. I will be happy just to drive Blue in the Hood and maybe a few Back Road Boys trips to Ojai when the restaurants open.

Since nothing is open for dine-In I will concentrate on my garage projects. I have health issues that prevent me from doing much work but I am confident they will improve and I can continue as the days pass. I have not lost my enthusiasm.

My Garage

Thanks to my son and wife we were able to bring the frame table home and assemble for use on my next project. I built this for 33/34 chassis but will make a 32 fixture for the flip side. I have 5 crossbars that serve as the fixture and they simply mount to the long platform. I need to DA the surface rust off and give it a quick coat of paint.

I had to replace the module in Blue and rebuilt the carb. Now to install the 350 trans and 9″ rear axle. I will hire it done. I can no longer crawl under cars.
