Monday’s Mood

November brings us to the holiday season with Thanksgiving and Christmas taking up most of our time. Family and friends get together and enjoy the season. Many of you have put your cars put away until spring and others in warm parts of the country will continue to participate in some year-end events.

Our last event for Woodies is the Malibu Christmas Woodie Parade which is always a fun day at the beach. Lots of New Years Day events are also popular around the country. Here in LA we have several events to keep us active in the winter months.

The winter months are also the time to make changes to the Hot Rod and maybe start on another dream on your bucket list. I may be 78 years old but I never quit dreaming about another project. My arthritis has not been good for working with my hands, but I hope to have some time to start another frame this winter. I still have a nice jig and lots of parts that need a home on a frame. We will see what Santa brings me.

Lynn

Roadsters

Ken Gross built a beautiful early style roadster and then moved back east.
Roy built George a Rat’s Glass model 40 and I loved the look with the 37 Truck grille.
  Tom’s iconic roadster was a bargain in the early days.
Some early style model – A’s are being brought back to life.
Wescott builds a great model 40 roadster and have Eastwood build you a chassis for simple beautiful cruising.

Coupes

Bruce’s coupe is really a beautiful example of 60’s rodding.
A local car that is driven often and raced is this high school 5W.
In process, coupes are some of my favorite photos.
How about a custom coupe with Appletons’ and skirts.
A perfect 3W was at Deuce on 101 show.

Sedans

My style sedan and work in process.
Home built and perfect is this nice chopped sedan.
A nice 40 sedan is always a very desirable cruiser.
Styling was the big improvement for model 40’s.
I prefer the resto-rod look of model 40’s.

Woodies

Steve is building beautiful Hercules woodie for his pleasure.
One of the first Woodies from Don Thelan was this beauty.
Long time 40 Woodie owner Andy Cohen left us recently. He will be missed.
Boyd built my favorite Deuce Woodie.
Another Hercules Woodie was at Wavecrest this year.
