The weekend saw two drag racing events take place in California. The RPM Nationals for early style Hot Rods and CHRR in Bakersfield which featured some famous drag racers from the past. Both are part of our long love of drag racing in California and the US.
As drag racing became more professional over the years, many of us decided to build our Hot Rods to race at small eight mile strips and, of course, on the street. The first NSRA event in Peoria, IL provided an alternative to the expense of competing professionally. The rest is history with the growth of street cars. Today’s drag racers are of high quality with major sponsors and mega prize money available to those who win.
As for me and my friends, we enjoy going to both of these events as well as The Race of Gentlemen events like was held last year in Santa Barbara. Pomona also offers the Winternationals and World Finals. Racing is in our blood and we will continue to support these classic and current events.

As you can see from the above events, we have lots of drag racing for all interested parties. Early Hot Rods to the all out John Force funny car events. Come to California and enjoy the racing.
