We had lots of discussion about the R&M Auction to be held at Joe’s Garage on Saturday June 14th. The concern was how many people would leave the Roadster Show, drive 50 miles, pay $80 to get in to watch people bid on some very nice cars. I think R&M knows about auctions so I guess there will be lots of buyers in attendance. If you look at R&M’s website you can see Joe’s collection that is being auctioned off. There is a open house on Thursday and Friday, so maybe I can make it down to the garage.

Joe was a mega car dealer for GM as well as other manufacturers, but was very loyal to the Chevy brand and a friend of GM. A true enthusiast with success that allowed him to purchase and build some very nice cars. My favorite is the 32 tudor sedan that Richard Lovesee started and never finished. Lil John inspired car of the 70’s. I had seen the car at Boyd’s a few times, but it was never finished. Bob and Sharon Kolmos have similar tudor sedans built by Boyd and Fat Jack. Long live the Deuce sedan.

Here are some cars.

Stay Tooned!

Vern’s 32 kit roadster. Very nice photo of rear end and profile…perfect.

Vern’s 32 from the front, flathead, bias tires, wire wheels, no hood.

Deuce at the 75th in Dearborn. Has the look with the DuVall.

Sam’s 32 Phaeton that used to belong to Bob Drake. Very nice and seldom seen these days. Frank has a nice one also.

Another Duvall at the PRC meet. This was a driver and cool.

RPU that was just finished. These are getting popular.

Bruce Myer brought the real deal to the PRC this year. What a nice car.

Halibrand Champ on ebay. This is the one out of the Edelbrock roadster. Late style from Halibrand, floating axles, smooth bells.
