We are having very HOT weather for July. The Joe and Lois Memorial was held on Saturday in 90 degree plus weather. The shade trees were a welcome site as my wife and I arrived at the cemetery. The event was very special to me and was well attended by family and friends. The ceremony lasted for a while and then a cruise through the Mayall’s favorite places lead everyone back to Dave’s for a nice gathering and lunch. Joe and Lois would have liked the event as it was truly well organized and laid back with plenty of time to talk to old and new friends. The new editor, Tom, drove his McMullen clone roaster to the event and we welcomed him to Simi Valley. He will fit right in.
I am sure Joe, Lois and Ed are cruising around enjoying very cool weather but nice enough to leave the top at home. Joe and Ed did not have tops on their roadsters.
This was a proper send off to a great person who dedicated his life to helping others and the NSRA Streetscene magazine. We will miss him.
Busy today, as I am off to look at another sedan delivery in Pasadena. The hunt never ends…
Dave had Joe’s two cars parked in front for everyone to view. Joe kept his cars very clean and neat. He owned the sedan for over 30 years and the roadster about 10 years or so. Joe was a hands on builder.[singlepic=2694]
Plenty of food and drink was provided. That is Magoo and Lois in the shade.[singlepic=2695]
The BillyBob roadsters were in attendance and looking good.[singlepic=2696]
My high school buddy, Dave, drove his 34 Phaeton of many years to the event. He is leaving for Louisville in this car next week.[singlepic=2697]
Frantic found the shade trees as Jane and I did. A good time was had by all. Joe would be proud of the event.[singlepic=2698]
Yes, the 1940 delivery was looking good. I had not seen this one before. Bright yellow with tan interior.[singlepic=2699]
The new editor, Tom, drove his McMullen clone to the event. This is a nice car and he drives it.[singlepic=2700]
Jeff drove his super nice Vicky to the event for all to see. Chrome everywhere and detailed. He was the former editor of Rod and Custom magazine and also lives in Simi Valley.
Five window 34’s look good as hiboys. Gene built this one a few years ago.[singlepic=2701]
Rear view looks great. Nice stance and has the Bobo look. Whitewalls and steelies.
